WHAT TO EXPECT AT FAC MEETINGS
We respect everyone’s time and thus, there is always an agenda and a facilitator for all Feminist Action Collective meetings as well as a secretary who records them. If you are unable to attend, FAC meeting minutes are available at:
Since we are an action-oriented group, these meetings can be filled with lots of details but we also often have guest speakers from other organizations or special topics for discussion. We also always have open time in the meeting for new ideas and discussion.
Each meeting is different. So if you haven’t been for a while, please try it again…chances are a lot has changed and…
WE NEED YOUR VOICE!
Membership in this group is intended to support the exchange of ideas and information with the goal to support community development (and change the world). We know you care a lot. So do we. Let’s be good to each other.
Here are some ground rules:
Limits on firmness: You can be vigorous and firm, but please, respect other members’ opinions as you would want them to respect yours. With that firmly in mind, please contribute thoughtfully and respectfully in your comments, follow-ups, and the like. Name calling, personal attacks on other members, threats, (direct or indirect), vulgar language, or bullying in your posts WILL NOT BE TOLERATED and will result in revocation of your membership and deletion of your post.
Limits on God-like categorically: If you post and then turn off the ability of anyone else to comment on your post, you will have your post deleted and you may be deleted from the group. This is a space for conversation. Your point is probably good enough to stand up to the discussion, anyway.
Entreaty for forgiveness: This group has several very patient administrators, however, we are people. We have our limits, and if the time comes when we must delete a post, or delete a person from the group, please know those actions are not taken without serious thought and discussion. We hope you understand.
We hope you'll join us at the next meeting!
We always have several projects in the works so if you are looking to get involved and enjoy planning events, fundraising, or just making stuff, these project groups could really use your involvement.
These groups can be more flexible but generally, meet on the 1st and 3rd Monday of every month at the Building for Women. It’s always a good idea to check the Google calendar to be sure.
